Recognized as the most passionate and vibrant city in Europe, Naples is a dazzling and mesmerizing feast of food, museums, art galleries and the incomparable archaeological Roman ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Positioned between the Sorrento peninsula and Salerno, the Amalfi Coast is a 28-mile winding narrow route of dramatic coastline — home to some of the most beautiful towns, stunning panoramas and breathtaking drives in the world. It’s most famous towns — Amalfi, Island of Capri, Positano, Sorrento and Ravello — have captivated and inspired artists for centuries.

Art and History Lovers In Naples, the art and
architecture of the ancient Roman world is out on display, in superb
archaeological museums, Baroque and Neoclassical cathedrals and matchless sites
such as the haunting ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. From the Greeks and
Etruscans to the Byzantine, Medieval and Renaissance eras, the opportunities to
examine masterpieces are endless. Food and Wine Enthusiasts Italy offers a passionate world of
tastes that tempt the palate with an immense variety of regional dishes and
recipes, not to mention exceptional wines and spirits. From Neapolitan pizza to
spaghetti and ice cream, the Campania region is a food paradise just waiting to
be tasted and explored. Sip and savor your way across the region — from
Sorrento’s luscious limoncello (lemony-liqueur) and the herb infused Campari
cocktail in Capri to local wines grown on the verdant slopes of Vesuvius — the
opportunities are never-ending. Romance/Honeymooners The Amalfi Coast has a reputation
for being one of the most romantic places in Italy, so it’s no wonder that
honeymooners from all over the globe head to this southern Italy region. From
astounding natural wonders to the beauty and magic of the Mediterranean, the
setting is perfect for a romantic getaway, destination wedding or dreamy
honeymoon. How do I get around town? Transfers Transfers between the airport and
hotel are not included with your vacation package. Private transfers are
available for purchase. (The private
transfer to Capri is car/boat/car). Taxi and buses Taxis are available from the
airport and train stations. Local buses are available. Car Rental cars provide flexibility to
explore Naples and the Amalfi Coast, and are available through Avis® Rent A
Car. Passports and a domestic driver’s license are necessary. Ferries and hydrofoils An important way to get around the
coast is by boat. Local and long distance ferries are available for local trips
and excursions to Sicily, the Aeolian or Pontine Islands. High-speed hydrofoils offer
service to the Port of Naples, the Island of Capri, Ischia, Sorrento and
neighboring Amalfi Coast cities. Service is greatly reduced in the winter
months. What kinds of dining and
nightlife are available? For authentic Italian food,
there’s nowhere like the passionate, sun-drenched Naples and Amalfi Coast where
there’s plenty of open-air cafes, local trattorias, nightclubs and concerts
held in beautiful garden villas. One of the liveliest and most bustling places
is Positano, with its popular winding roads and pastel villas perched on
flower-laden cliffs. Ravello is the city of music and Sorrento offers elegant
wine bars with lounge music, and glamorous nightspots popular with celebrities. Simple ingredients and creativity
gave birth to one of this areas most loved and imitated dishes in the world —
Pizza Margherita — a gastronomic marvel created to honor Queen Margherita.
Another Neapolitan gem is buffalo mozzarella, a fresh, handmade cheese that
melts in your mouth. The abundance of fresh seafood makes dishes such as
spaghetti with mussels or clams, risotto alla pescatora, grilled fish, fried
anchovies or calamari a supreme gastronomical delight to the
taste buds. Where should I go shopping? A prime shopping destination,
Naples offers some of the lowest prices in Italy, especially in its street
markets and in local artisan workshops. Naples is known for its cameos,
porcelain and ceramic figures, which are sold at the fancier shops in the city
center. Amalfi’s specialties are fine
stationary and ceramics. Every conceivable luxury item Italy makes is sold in the shops of
Sorrento including bargains in fashions, glass and trinkets. Sorrento’s specialty
is intarsia, inlaid wood scenes framed or on tables or trays and makes
exquisite gifts. Good to Know: Airport Name: Naples Capodichino
