Additional Information

Day 1 Your Journey Begins in Rome

Welcome to Rome! Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay and begin exploring Europe's largest open-air museum with your hop-on, hop-off tour. Shrouded in legend, Rome is home to hundreds of ancient artifacts, architecture, beautiful churches and Basilicas such as St. Peter's and St. Martin's. Stop for a delicious Italian ice-cream in one of the pretty cafés by the Trevi fountain and then walk in the footsteps of gladiators at the famous Colosseum with your included skip-the-line ticket. Don't forget to have your photo taken with one of the slightly more modern gladiators outside! (Overnight in Rome)

Day 2 Rome

Today, bypass the long lines with your skip-the-line tickets for the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. The Vatican Museum holds a superb collection as well as housing the Sistine Chapel - the Vatican itself is also a country in its own right - the smallest in all of Europe. Want to do a guided tour instead? Just ask your Rail Expert! (Overnight in Rome)

Day 3 Rome to Florence

After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and make your way to the train station for your journey to Florence. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy a two-night stay. Once settled in, head to the popular Uffizi Gallery with your skip-the-line ticket and see the Renaissance works of great artists such as Botticelli, Raphael and Michelangelo. Afterwards, visit to the Duomo Basilica and marvel at its beautiful frescoes and spectacular dome that dominates the city's skyline. Why not visit the museums housed at the Pitti Palace or take a stroll around the charming Boboli Gardens? Or you may wish to soak up the local architecture and visit some of the city's iconic churches, such as Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce. (Overnight in Florence)

Day 4 Florence

Spend a full day exploring the city after breakfast this morning. Start your day by seeing the famous Statue of David with your skip-the-line tickets for the Accademia Gallery. Afterwards, why not enjoy a famous gelato as you stroll through the city's lively piazzas? Admire the charming views along the River Arno and cross the city's oldest bridge, the 14th century Ponte Vecchio. This evening, be sure to sample some authentic Tuscan cuisine, including a glass of wine from the hills that surround the city. (Overnight in Florence)

Day 5 Florence to Venice

Check out of your hotel after breakfast and catch the train to Venice. Upon arrival in Venice, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay before setting out to acquaint yourself with the classic Italian city. Stroll down the banks of the shimmering canals and discover the magnificent architecture that lines the cobbled streets and square. Enjoy one of the most iconic attractions in Venice, a scenic gondola ride through the canals. Come the evening, relax at an outdoor trattoria by the sparkling lagoon, or why not head to Harry's Bar to try a delectable Bellini in the cocktail's birthplace. (Overnight in Venice)

Day 6 Venice

Spend a full day exploring Venice today. Avoid the long queues for one of Venice’s most popular monuments, The Doge’s Palace, with your skip-the-line ticket. Both the external façade and the numerous masterpieces inside are sights to behold. After you’re finished, continue exploring St. Mark’s Square, and make the most of your final evening in Italy. (Overnight in Venice)

Day 7 End your trip in Venice – or add on more adventures!

After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and continue with your travels. If you wish to extend your vacation, perhaps with an additional day in a different city, one of our Rail Experts will be happy to assist you with the details.
